What Causes Severe Muscle Spasms In My Abdomen And Extremities Apart From Morning Gruesome Headaches, Nausea And Shooting Pain In My Eyes And Stiff Neck?
Question: Good evening, I have been having severe muscle spasms in my abdomen, hands and feet. Drink plenty of water, take extra magnesium, and am on a statin. Going on for many months. My neck is also in continual spasm, I think from sleeping wrong. I have occasional thumping in my ear if fluid is in there, and am having neck spasm.
And about the sleeping on my neck wrong. I wake up with a gruesome headache, nausea from that, shooting pains in my eyes and stiff neck. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Probably side effects of statin, follow the advice below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Your symptoms seem to be related to side effects of statin medications. One of the common side effects of statins is muscle pain and damage. This is caused by the effect of statins in muscle cells.
I suggest you to lower the dose of statins or stop the medication. You can consult your doctor about alternative medications such as fibrate.
Meanwhile, for the pain you can use:
- Anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen 400 three times a day
- Anti-inflammatory creams or gels such as Voltaren gel
- Warm compresses for local relief
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
