-my sisters Index finger of left hand was hurting slightly (it's been 8-9 days) but now hurting more

-Pain was located along the finger nail on left side but tip of finger starting to swell more and hurting even with light pressure

She -Doesnt remember getting hurt though did lift heavy bags several times in a hurry before leaving Paris. Her hands don't remain moist or anything.she didn't do any cleaning or anything. Brief Answer:
Acure paronychia; Oral and topical antibiotic

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have read your query and I have also reviewed the Image. She seems to have acute paronychia i.e inflammation of nail fold.
I suggest an oral antibiotic e.g Augmentin (Amoxicillin+clavulanate) 1000mg, twice daily for 7 days.
In addition I would also suggest an oral antiinflammatory/ painkiller e.g tab zinase-d (diclofenac+serratiopeptidase), once or twice daily, for a week, for symptomatic pain relief.
Topically she may apply an antibiotic cream e.g T-Bact cream (mupirocin 2% cream), twice daily.
These are prescription medications and I suggest that she uses them under supervision and guidance of your local doctor.
