take symptomatic treatment
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
Sorry to hear about the pain and discomfort you are in and hope you recover at the earliest.
My observations are as follows
1. The CAT scan findings mentioned by you is absence of appendicitis. However there are many possibilities for your symptoms and if there is any other positive finding in your CAT scan report then that needs attention. You can upload a copy of your CAT scan abdomen report and I shall review it in detail, should there be any cause other than appendicitis giving you symptoms of pain, constipation and low grade fever.
2. Please have a talk with your GP or ER doctors and take symptomatic treatment until you make your appointment. This can include medications like anti spasmodics, anti inflammatory, antibiotics and constipation relieving medications as recommended. The medications are to be given after clinical examination and to be taken under medical supervision.
3. It is important to drink adequate amounts of water and eat soft home cooked food for sometime. This will reduce your bad gas and might relieve constipation also.
4. Keep a close watch on yourself. Please look out for any skin changes or rashes in the skin over the painful area. There are conditions which can appear as vague discomfort in the beginning and can later form rashes or skin changes at later stages. Also look out for symptoms like change in stool consistency, blood in stools, dark colored stools. If there is such development then please talk to your doctor immediately.
5. Please avoid physical exertion and take rest till you start feeling better. Have a family member or close friend with you at all times. They might be of help to you in case of severe pain requiring an ER visit.
Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
Regards,
Dr.Vivek
