What Causes Severe Pain Despite On Medication For Enlargement In Right Kidney?
Question: In DTPA scan it has been observed that my mother right kidney has been larged.Due to this doctor advised me to take medicine of Flavosip 200 three times in a day.after that few days were of good condition.But in recent time it has been observed that pain is being increased day by day.Due to that i visited to doctor again regarding the same.Doctor advised to do several report.But in report all are of normal.Still pain is happening.kindly suggest.

I have seen the report attached by you and it looks like there is marked enlargement of the right kidney. Enlargement of the right kidney is most often due to obstruction in the ureter. I strongly advise you to undergo CT scan of the kidney, ureter and pelvis followed by ureteroscopy ( seeing the bladder and ureter directly through camera). This wil tell us what is causing the obstruction.
The pain in the right side of the abdomen is because of the enlarged kidney. Large kidney stretches the capsule causing pain. The best drug to reduce the pain is Tab Tramadol three times a day.
The left kidney is compensating for the loss of function of the right kidney.
