Question: I am having severe pain in my arm. Arm is very sensitive to touch. And, I am not able to stretch my arm out completely. No recent injury to arm and have not had this pain before. I recently had blood clots in my lungs. Could this be related?? Thanks!

Brief Answer:
DVT is a possibility

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Yes, it could be related. DVT (Deep vein thrombosis ) is a possibility especially with history of thromboembolic disease. A Doppler ultrasound of the affected upper limb can be done to look for any vascular compromise. If none is found then musculoskeletal causes including sprains or osteoporosis should be looked for and treated accordingly. Please consult your doctor at the earliest in this regard.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
