What Causes Severe Pain In Knees, Hips And Shoulders While On Fosamax?

Question: I took fosamax for 9 weeks and developed severe pain in my knees, hips and shoulders. I stopped taking September 4th by Novenber 1st I woke up in the morning and could not move. My right arm was most affected. I could not even dress myself. I ended up in the emergency room where they treated my right shoulder with an X-ray stating that I had bursitis, tendinitis, and a rotator cup problem. They recommended I see an orthopedist and follow up. I went to the orthopedist he said I had frozen shoulder and could not explain the other pain. He gave me OxyContin and a prescription to physical therapy. That sMe week I went to pt and they said no you do not have frozen shoulder. After 6 weeks of pt I can move my arm quite well. Within that time I also followed up with the orthopedist who now said I did not have frozen shoulder and gave me a cortisone shot in the right shoulder and another 6 weeks of therapy. The therapy is going well, however I cannot sleep at night as after I am in bed for an hour or two I have awful pain in my knees, thighs, and shoulders. It will last for 2 to 3 hours in the morning. Once I get moving it is better, however if I sit for any length of time the pains come back. I have a follow up visit to my orthopedist XXXXXXX 13, and I am taking Advil for pain. Do you think this is coming from the fosamax and what do you suggest I do from here. I was in perfect health before taking this drug, I have had blood. Work up twice since sept the Drs have ruled out lymes,lupus,ms,sugar,etc.

No I am not diabetic. Was tested for that

Would you recommend orthopedist for follow up or rheumatologist? I did not have this problem before taking fosamax.
