What Causes Severe Pain In Lower And Upper Back?

Need further investigation.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for using Healthcare Magic. The blood test results you have provided are entirely normal. If you are suffering severe backache then you need further assessment and investigation.
Unfortunately, severe back pain is common. In order to improve the pain, the cause must be found. An MRI of your back will aid diagnosis. Also, a physiotherapist will be able to advise on exercises to strengthen the muscles of the back. A muscle relaxant such as diazepam may also help. Pain killers such as paracetamol and ibuprofen should be tried.
I hops this is of help. If you have any further questions, please nog hesitate to contact me.

Thanks for your feedback. I understand that the overall test result is normal, however i am concerned about the two test HCT which is lower than the reference range and MPV which is higher. Please explain what is the significance of these two test and what are the implication when they are out of range; to be noted that i have one ectopic kidney(right).
Warm Regards,
Some explanation.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your further question. The results you highlight are only just outside the normal ranges therefore need not be a cause for concern.
HCT is the hematocrit. This is the percentage by volume of the red blood cells. A low value would suggest anemia. However, I note that your hemoglobin is entirely normal. I am sure this marginally low value is not significant.
The MPV is the mean platelet volume. This can be raised when there is destruction of platelets. This can be seen in inflammatory bowel disease. However, you result is vey borderline and therefore it may not be of significance to your current condition.
In relation to your back pain, I do think it important that you pursue an MRI initially as this is more likely to give useful information to aid diagnosis.
I hope this helps.
