What Causes Severe Pain In Muscles, Chest And Dry Mouth?

default
Posted on Wed, 27 Apr 2016
Question: I recently had a wedge resection of my upper left lung. (renal cell carcinoma meta 5 yrs after nephrectomy.) I'm pretty much all healed up now. I just finished a 5 day course of Levofloxicin for pneumonia. Yesterday I started having a lot of muscle pain all over and a sharp pain on the left side just under my ribs. Any idea what it might be? Also, dry mouth.

Brief Answer:
Get done ECG and 2D Echo.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.

I have gone through the reports you have attached. Blood reports are normal.

Levofloxacin can cause myositis (inflammation of muscles). It is uncommon side effect of levofloxacin but it is seen in some patients.

So your muscle pain all over the body can be due to levofloxacin induced myositis.
Left sided chest pain should need cardiac evaluation first.

So get done ECG and 2D Echo. If both are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases.
So you will need painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.

Sometimes uncontrolled asthma and stress, depression can also cause similar kind of chest pain.

So please let me know
1. Are you still having stress and depression?
2. Is your asthma under control?

Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better.
I will be happy to help you further.

Wish you good health.
Thanks.
