What Causes Severe Pain In Nipples?
Question: I have severe pain in my left nipple and now it is starting in my right nipple.

I would like to know a few more details for me to assist you more:
- Since when have you got the pains?
- Any enlargement of the nipples / breasts ?
- Discharge / redness / increase of pain on touching or pressing?
- Any lump underneath the nipples / areola?
- Any medical treatment?
My thoughts:
- Male of 61 years developing severe pain in left sided nipple and now the right one too, Doctor ordered a mammogram.
- Pain, the severe one, that too on both the sides is more indicative of an infection as the most probable cause.
- I hope a course of an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicine with painkiller properties might have been started,
- FNAC / Biopsy is also warranted.
