Question: I was diagnosed with Parkinson's a couple months ago, they also said I had high cholesterol so Dr. Put me on Lipator. A couple weeks into the med I started to have severe pain in my right hip and upper part of my leg, almost like a painful current running down my leg as soon as I would stand up in morning and all day as long as I was on my feet. No pain when sitting or laying down. So painful & I'm so frustrated. I have tremors on my left side from Parkinson's .i'm almost 72. What do you think this pain is from???

Brief Answer:
Pain may be due to lumbosacral radiculopathy

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The pain described may be possible due to lumbosacral radiculopathy secondary to disc disease with radiating features.
The other possibility may be hip arthritis but the pain remains all the time.
You need to continue parkinsons medication and lipator.
For back pain you can get an xray or Mri depending upon clinical findings.
Physiotherapy, pain modulator medication like pregabalin or gabapentin or amitryptiline may help.
I short course of pain killers with muscle relaxant may also be used.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
