the pain is mostly in upper thigh but does go into front lower leg. The front calf is also stiff Does not go away at night. Just woke up with the pain again but it will subside as I go through the day and walk around.
There is no back pain. I haven't smoked in 40 years.
Right now it hurts severely.
I go to an exercise class 3 x a week for core and weight training. Going this morning hoping it will help the pain

Brief Answer:
Nerve Pain
Detailed Answer:
Good evening..
Thank you for your reply
Well, this sort of pain does look like nerve pain..which is radiating from the back and going down till your leg...
Most of these nerve roots do have origin from the spine..There is a chance you may not have the back pain but still the nerve is getting compressed from somewhere.
What I would suggest is..When you go for exercise, ask them to do your SLR( Straight LEg Raising Test)...Like raising the leg up( when you are on your back) and checking how much is the angle. Anything less than 60 is significant
Secondly..I would suggest you try Tablet PRegabalin 75 mg....It should work in your case
LAstly..Once we have the SLR test done, it will help us localize your pain...So we can plan for an MRI of the spine or Nerve conduction test...which will help us conclude the final diagnosis...
Hope the information was useful
DO update me once you have the test done

Had an x-ray nothing there. Still in pain. Did the SLR can raise the leg almost to 90 degree angle, Some pain in lower back now too.
Just got up severe pain in front lower leg. Doctor said maybe sciatica, prescribed flexerill and Naprosyn. Took 2x now .
Will get better as day goes on then start up at night.
Living with it now hoping it will just go away on its own

Brief Answer:
Low backache
Detailed Answer:
Good evening
Well, yes it does look like nerve compression only. X RAy wont pick up the soft tissues or nerve compression. An MRI of the spine would be helpful to determine how severe the compression is...
Well, Flexeril and Naprosyn wont be helpful in the long run. They are just gonna provide you with temporary relief, but wont eliminate the etiology associated. So we need to get an MRI of the spine and maybe an injection of the joint would be helpful. Plus continue with your exercises. You can ask the trainer to help you with muscle strengthening exercises of the lower back
Hope the information was useful
