What Causes Severe Pain In Shoulder Radiating To Armpit And Chest?
Question: My dad has pain 8 /10 or 7 weeks takin 6 pain killers per day and getting worse
As pain from top left shoulder going own to elbow then extreme pain under his armpit then across his nipple to his cest
Ct scan all god ECG all good X-rays and MRI all good blod Tests rating to heart all good
Went ack to doctor today who gave him 2nd cortisone injection at bottom of his shoulder this time and said he could have frozen shoulder and if injection works good that is what it is, if it doesn't ten they will have a bone scan done
We are at our wits end he is getting worse and only feels better when laying down

I have studied your case.
As shoulder pain is radiating to elbow it can be due to cervical nerve compression.
Due to compression of nerve root there can be pain in shoulder and elbow
Also there can be large disc bulge which is compressing over spinal cord.
I will advise you clinical examination and accordingly investigation like MRI cervical spine or shoulder will help.
If this is normal then PET SCAN will help to localise lesion. It can be due to infection also.
For these symptoms methylcobalamine and neurotropic medication like pregabalin along with tramadol can be started consulting your doctor.
Till time, avoid lifting weights. You can consult physiotherapist for help.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give you relief.
I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
Its good that all cardiac parameters are normal.
