What Causes Severe Pain In Upper Right Hand, Back And Shoulder?
Question: I have a severe pain in my upper right hand back or shoulder. It feels like something is stuck there.
I do not have a gallbladder
I think I have a stone in my bile duct
What should I do?
The pain is also in the front of my body now and going straight threw to my back
Should I go to the emergency room at the nearest hospital or go to family doctor

Your concern is appreciated
While biliary colic may be the reason but as you said gall bladder is not there and bile duct can contain stone but it will cause jaundice and throwing up bile is more unlikely, it may happen that stone can obstruct the sphichter of oddi and cause pain and the stone ca also perforate into intestine causing gall stone ileus. Billious vomiting may be due to the fact that there is some kind
of obstruction in the duodenum or small intestine
Other caues of pain can be muskuloskeletal nature, pancreatitis rarely of cardiac origin etc
You should go to the nearest emergency room to be more sure especially if the pain worsens.
They will most likely do plain xray erect abdomen and ultrasound or if indicated CT abdomen.
Your doctor will decide whether surgery is required or not.
