Brief Answer:
?Zoster sine herpete

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.

I understand that you are having severe pain on one side ( you have not mentioned the site) from last 6 months.

You have also mentioned that the physicians have ruled out problems associated with the spine and other major tests are negative.

It is possible to get pain associated with herpes zoster even without developing a rash. It is called " Zoster sine herpete".
The virus persists in the nerve roots in the spine. It travels down the spine and causes herpes zoster. It is rare that it occurs that without causing the rash. But there is a possibility.

This pain is called post herpetic neuralgia.

This is, however generally not associated with nausea. You may have to get a separate evaluation done for that.

This could be treated by drugs like Amitryptaline and Gabapentin. Both are nerve stabilizers. You could apply calamine and menthol based lotions for symptomatic relief.

Hope this clears your doubts.

If you have any further queries, I will be glad to answer.

Regards,
Dr. Johny Chacko
