What Causes Severe Pain On Right-sided Lower Abdomen?
Question: I took my wife in to ER last night as she seemed to be having symptoms of appendicitis. She is 64. They did a CT SCAN and blood work and found no signs that there was anything wrong with her appendix, no sign of kidney stones and no sign of diverticulitis. She has a pretty high pain threshold and doesn't complain. She was given a prescription for hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325 tb. She remains in a hell of a lot of pain today and had little sleep last night. The pain had originally been on her right side in her lower abdomen/groin. It has now moved around more to her lower back. With the other potential issues rules out, what should we be looking for?
I forgot, the urinalysis also checked out ok. No blood.

Brief Answer:
Ct angiography required
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
if here inflammatory findings and ct scan were fine then appendicitis and diclverticulitis can be ruled out. but there are some other possible diagnoses such as ischemic bowel disease, right ovary issue, pancreatitis or bowel obstruction. ischemia can be ruled out by angiography and obstruction by colonoscopy. however,if there is no pain progression then this is not urgent. Wish you good health. Regards
