What Causes Severe Pain On The Right Side Of The Body?

Question: I am having pain on the right side. It started in my neck, moved between my shoulder blade and down my arm, I got up this morning with my right side hurting. This has been going on for about 4 weeks. I called my Dr this morning and have an appointment for Oct 14th. Need some advice please
Brief Answer:
Take Tylenol and ibuprofen. Ice as needed.
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
It sounds like you might have pinched a nerve in your neck or back. I would recommend putting ice on the area of pain. I would also recommend getting plenty of rest. Tylenol and ibuprofen will be curative as the pain is likely from inflammation.
However, I would recommend getting a full physical exam and x-ray if needed.

Thank you, I have Dr's appointment on Oct 14
Brief Answer:
Physical exam, X-ray if needed, osteopathic manipulative medicine
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
It does not sound concerning - I would be very concerned if there was weakness in your arm, if you dropping cups unexpectedly, or if you had limited function of your arm.
If all of your work up is negative, I would recommend finding a osteopathic doctor who can perform manipulation, also known as osteopathic manipulative medicine.
