Question: Good Evening, my husband was admitted to the hospital yesterday as the ER doctor suspected Cellulitis in his right leg as he all of the listed symptoms. He's been given 3 IV antibiotics yet his condition seems to be getting worse instead of better and his temperature was up to 110 degrees just an hour ago. The swelling in his leg is worse and his pain is getting worse also despite the Tylenol he's been given every 4 hours. He's also only urinating once a day and his urine is dark brown. Does this seem normal in treating Cellulitis? Thank you

Brief Answer:
This is not normal in treating cellulitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

I have studied your case,

As per your history and symptoms possibility of cellulitis which has increased now probably to profound septicaemia.
This is not normal in treating cellulitis. This is due to aggravation of infection.
I will advise blood culture and antibiotic accordingly.
Rule out any viral infection leading to high grade fever.

Septicaemia will lead to reduced renal function so he needs regular renal function test to avoid renal failure.
Aggressive management is important to avoid spread of infection.

If required you may need to do arterial blood investigation for prognosis and recovery.
Regular blood investigation will help in prognosis and recovery.
Take precaution to avoid spread of infection further
