default
Posted on Tue, 16 Aug 2016
Question: pelvic pain which has become quite a bit worse, especially in last three days, in the evenings, wakes me up at night , had a physical last week, all seems to be fine.Had a CT scan, all good, had a pelvic ultra sound, found a fibroid cyst in my uterious, went thru GTD Cancer in 2011, all good, feel fine other than mounting pain in my abdomen. I am not a complainer but am now quite concerned especially because it is waking me up at night. Yesterday ran 25 min in deep sand followed by 1 hr ocean swim. I just turned 55 felt fine my "gut" tells me this seems like an infection as it is getting worse I know my body well. My stool has changed in the last week or so. I juice a lot and it hurts this morning and last morning to bear down guide a bit.

btw, no fever, no vomiting, appetite fine.

Brief Answer:
?.PELVIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASE

Detailed Answer:
Hi

In Pelvic pain with out fever or vomiting ,we have to rule out renal or ureteric stones .Because it us that severe which will disturb your sleep.
Your GTD ,is it trophoblastic desease ?
If so are you doing follow ups.? HCG hormone has returned to normal then ?
Other possibilities are subacute appendicitis, urinary infection with cystitis etc.
Is it fibroids in uterus or cyst in ovary.?
it cannot be fibroid cyst in uterus ,but it can be adenomyosis in uterus causing pain(unlikely in this age group)
So kindly update with more details.

GTD was yes, trophoblastic disease. The Dr had the HCG test done already I will check with her if she has the results. I have been tested several times since the end of 2011(when I went thru GTD Cancer) with the HCG test which came back negative thank God! I will ask her today, the Dr that is, when I call in this AM about the results,if any, for the HCG test. The CT scan ruled out appendicitis. Did not do a urine test or stool sample last visit will ask her for one when I book an appt today or as soon as I can get one. Fibroids were in the uterus she wasn't worried about it.

Brief Answer:
PID

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Nice of you to update.
If the pain is not related to your uterus and ovaries ,you may get your urine tested and a contrast CT to rule out stones.
If nothing then you can take any pain killers like Brufen ,as it could be muscles cramps in view of swimming snd strenuous exercises.
Feel free to ask your doubts with more details.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
If you have done contrast CT and you are sure that no muscle cramps ,get the stool, urine ,and routine blood test done.
If everything normal and pain persists will need further evaluation according to the location and nature of pain.
Please update the results.
Wishing you speedy recovery. Regards
