What Causes Severe Pressure And Burning Sensation While Urinating?
Question: My daughter has a lot of pressure and burning feeling when she urinates. Actually it is after she urinates. She has been to the emergency room twice this week. It isn't a UTI. All the test come back negative. She had a pelvic sonogram, a cat scan and everything is negative. She has been to a urologist on Monday, he just talked to her regarding her problem. She was concerned about this IC disease but he said he didn't think she had that. He gave her a medication for her to take for two months. I think it is some kind of antibiotics. He said It usually doesn't take effect for around a month. My daughter is 30 years old she is terrible pain she doesn't want to live like this. She also went to two gyn they testify her for UTI's again negative. What to do.
Brief Answer:
Please describe these pains more!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Are these pains at the level of the bladder or around the vagina? How often does she pee? Many times in small volumes? Does this happen all the times?
Interstitial cystitis will at least show signs of inflammation on analysis, guiding the diagnosis. Also, urination would be pressed and in small volumes.
Is she having any other problem besides this?
Hope I have answered your query.
Please let me hear back from you. I will review your responses and provide more guiding details on how to approach this. Besides, has she ever tried any pain medications?

She pees normal amount of times a day. It is when she isn't urinating that she feels a burning pressure in the urinary track. This has been going on for two weeks. She is going to another urologist today, Monday April 2, 2018 at 12 o'clock noon. I will see what this doctor has to day.
Brief Answer:
I will treat empirically for a probable urinary tract infection!!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
These symptoms are not classical but their persistence warrant something to be done. Though the laboratory findings are not conclusive, I will recommend that she should be treated empirically with antibiotics for a urinary tract infection. If this fails to address her symptoms, then we would for sure know this is no longer part of the equation.
Hope I have answered your query.
