What Causes Severe Productive Cough, Cold And Soreness In Jaws?
My very initial suspicion was it may have been mold, as the very first symptoms started as I was cleaning my room, which has had mold in it before, but I began to doubt this when others around me began to get sick too. Except none of them ever formed the severity of symptoms I did.
I am wondering what the initial infection may have been, but more importantly what on earth is going on now, and why do I have a full-flavored cuisine in my phlegm? What do my residual symptoms point to in comparison to my initial ones? and what should I do?
Thanks,
Creedence
Possible Chronic infection of paranasal sinuses?Require NCCT.
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.
I can certainly understand your concerns.
I have worked through your query in detail.
As per your given history, the possibility of mixed infection(fungal/mold plus bacterial) is high.
The source of infection could be in one the paranasal sinuses.Any infection in this location can give symptoms referred to ear, throat ,head and chest.
Occasionally it may give rise to mucoid and coloured/flavoured sputum due to retention of secretions.
At this point, it is important to get a non contrast CT scan(NCCT) of the paranasal sinuses to assess and locate the foci of infection and to determine the further course of action.
Recurrent episodes of such symptoms with greater severity can be the hallmark of a paranasal sinus disease.
Further management is any is largely based on test results.
Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
