
What Causes Severe Skin Itching While On Pregabalin For Herpes Zoster?

Question: i was suffering from Herpes Zoster now my skin is completely dried even dead skin is gone. My doctor have suggested to take pregabalin for 20 days each every night. same I am taking since 10 days but I have uncontrolled itching on complete affected part please suggest why I have uncontrolled itching. I am tired of this. is it normal or can u please suggest medicine.

Paresthesias in the form of itching, burning, pins and needles sensation and pain is the most common complication of herpes zoster.
It will take some time to settle.
For uncontrolled itching I recommend my patients to take antihistaminic like tablet levocetrizine 5 mg once in the morning and once in the afternoon and tablet hydroxyzine 25 mg at bedtime.
