What Causes Severe Skin Rashes On Legs While Post Intake Of AKT4?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Stop ATK4 temporarily and use Benadryl syrup
Detailed Answer:
Hi
If you have mild rash you can continue but if you say severe that means associated with blebs, itching and bleeding then you should better stop the ATK4 for three days. Most likely drug causing reaction are Pyrizinamide or Isoniazid.
Meantime you can use Benadryl syrup, apply ALOEVERA gel over the rash. It should subside. Please meet a Infectious disease specialist or MD general physician how to continue on individual agents of the Anti TB therapy than a combination drug like ATK 4.
If rash has improved substantially, anti-TB drugs can be restarted one by one every 2-3 days. First, start with RIFAMPICIN because of its efficacy
and is the least likely to cause rash. Second, Isoniazid can be added after 3 days. Third, PYRIZINAMIDE or ETHAMBUTOL can be added after 3 days of Isoniazid.
Monitor signs and symptoms of rash. If rash recurs at any point; the last agent
added should be removed.
Hope this helps you decide.
PS: Please discuss with your treating doctor before making any alterations with your AKT4 drugs.
