What Causes Severe Stomach Discomfort And Burning Post Intake Of Levofloxacin?

Question: Hi Dr....

my doctor prescribed me levofloxacin n coldit for cold fever from yesterday am having. my stomach burning badly n discomfort like tight stomach urge to poop.....shal I continue ...? or I need to hav any other tab for this side effects....? also hot gas (fart)......

there is need to add OMEPRAZOLE.

Detailed Answer:

I have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns.
Based upon the description, you should take your medicine on full stomach.

If I was your physician I will definitely add OMEPRAZOLE 40 mg . It has to be taken 20 mins before breakfast. Please do not discontinue the antibiotic treatment as it may result in drug resistance. It will take at least 48 hrs to elicit its effects.
Meanwhile stay calm and use OMEPRAZOLE to relieve symptoms.
