What Causes Severe Stomach Pain And Diarrhea While Treating Stomach Ulcers?
Question: my husband has an ulcer and today he has beenhaving a loit of stomach pain and diaharrea and last few times was bloody he has beenon pain meds for 2 weeks due to pinched nerves in back! Please advise action

Stomach pain is due to already existing ulcer and it is getting worse due to the intake of pain killers as it increases the acid secretion.So he has to start with acid nuetralizers llike Mucaingel/ Gelosil and Tablet Omeprazol for the quick relief.
He has to undergo endoscopy for the gastric ulcer diagnosis and treatment.
Diarrhea which lasts longer than 48 hours should be checked with stool test. Also blood in stool (mixed with it) is a concerning symptoms.
Usually diarrhea is caused by infection. If there is a blood in it, we can say its bacterial infection. That is why you seem to need antibiotic treatment.
And no matter if its infection or not, colonoscopy should be scheduled to rule out the worst possibility.
