What Causes Severe Stomach Pain, Nausea And Profuse Sweating?

Question: A couple of nights ago I woke up with severe belly ache and some nausea. When I sat down on the toilet I started sweating profusely and for a minute thought I was going to throw up. Well, I didn't do anything on the toilet so I went to lay down. Minutes later I felt the urge to have a bowel movement and sat on the toilet again. I had to push real hard but, was careful about it. All this time, I am sweating really bad. Once I finally started, my bowel movement was very soft, can't say watery but, soft. Afterwards, I felt better. Still sweating but, not as bad, I went back to bed and slept rest of the night comfortably. What was going on?
Brief Answer:
Acute gastroenteritis due to food or virus
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am sorry for the situation you have gone through a couple of nights ago.
What you experienced is an acute episode that makes me think of any food you have eaten the night before the episode occurred.
Do you remember what you have eaten?
Another cause could be viral gastroenteritis with only one episode of loose stool and nausea.
As it hasn't repeated, it was only a temporary episode. I advise to :
- consume plenty of fluids
- apply good hygienic measures with food
- take probiotics
- be careful with food you eat
Hope it was of help!
