Brief Answer:
Colonoscopy is essential
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
I have had many patients who complained for severe pain abdomen, colonoscopy revealed inflammatory bowel disease.
During the day of your colonoscopy please insist for a biopsy of the mucosa, this will also tell us if has been a chronic inflammatory state
I would have stopped Ranitidine and switched you over to a stronger and a longer acting omeprazole with domperidone. Please approach your GP with this recommendation.

Brief Answer:
Not due to stress
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
It is unlikely to be due to stress. YOu must have responded to treatment if it was secondary to stress.
Tab Esomeprazole is the next higher antacid, it is very effective and long acting. It has to be taken once daily before food.
