What Causes Severe Throbbing Pain In The Calf Muscles?
Question: I get a severe throbbing pain deep in my left calf that runs from my knee to my ankle, usually following a sharp pain in my left knee, but not always. Sometimes I don't have the pain in my knee first. The pain in my calf usually starts out as a tingling feeling and then progress to the really bad pain, like a 7 or 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. Ibuprofen usually helps but I can't take it for too long. I've had pain in my knee for some while, squatting or bending, but the calf pain only started about 5 weeks ago. It doesn't hurt every day but maybe 3 out of 7 days. What could it be?
