What Causes Severe Tingling Sensation And Swelling In The Feet?
General physician will help.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Tingling sensations with severe swollen feet can be due to DVT nerve damage, low vitamin B 12 levels, thyroid disease or vascular deformity. You have to get a NCV( nerve conduction velocity) test done to assess the damage to the nerves. Till that time, wear flat slippers and take some vitamin B12 which is helpful in nerve injuries. If symptoms persist then you have to get your blood sugar levels also checked as it can be due to peripheral neuropathy.
In your case, I suggest you an immediate general physician consultation. You need to get blood tests, kidney function tests, electrolyte levels, ECG and stress ECHO, venous Doppler of the legs, Vitamin B 12 levels, NCV (nerve conduction velocity) and urine tests done.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.

Since you are an orthopedic surgeon, I have another question. I had arthroscopy last July in both knees for partially torn menisci. While the doctor was in there, he noticed a small osteonecrosis. He took that out. I am still sometimes having excruciating pain in that upper shin area that reaches to the middle of my shin. He said I would be in pain the rest of my life. I will never go back to him. He took something out that I did not know about. I read that osteonecrosis that is small is only to be kept an eye on in case it gets bigger. Pain is excruciating sometimes that I gasp outloud and my husband asks what's wrong. I tell him again--my shin.
Get an MRI scan done.
Detailed Answer:
If there is a sudden sharp pain in a specific area of the shin then it can be due to tendonitis or osteonecrosis again. This needs a regular monitoring and you need to get a repeat MRI scan done to find out the cause.
