Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would like to explain that your pain doesn't seem to be related to any cardiac ischemia issue.

A sharp and well localized chest pain is very likely to be of an extra-cardiac origin.

Several alternative reasons should be sought instead, such as chest wall structures affections (costochondritis, musculoskeletal inflammation, shingles, etc.), pleural inflammation, sometimes even a degenerative backbone disorder could produce such a clinical symptomatology.

In addition, a pulmonary micro-embolism may be the reason of such a sharp pain.

Coming to this point, I would recommend discussing with your attending physician on the opportunity of performing some additional tests, as follows:

- complete blood count,
- PCR & ESR,
- a chest X ray study,
- cardiac ultrasound,
- CPK,
- LDH.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
