What Causes Sharp Pain Behind The Right Ear?
Some possible diagnoses and suggestions
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
The pain in your ear, most probably has nothing to do with your previous sciatic pain.
It may be a muscle pull, a temporo-mandibular joint inflammation or an external otitis infection.
My recommendation is that you use a pain killer, who will reduce the pain and also decrease the inflammation. I recommend Ibuprofen 400mg, 3 times/day for some days as needed.
Also, use a local analgesic cream and apply locally 3-4 times/day.
If you notice pain related with your jaw then you will know it is an inflammation of the joint in that side.
A muscular pain will very soon settle down.
An ear pain will be accompanied with pain while moving the ear lobe or secretions from the ear. In this case you will need an ear exam and antibiotics.
If worse or not better, I would recommend seeing a local doctor.
Hope this is helpful.
