Brief Answer:
Possible hernia.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for using Healthcare Magic. From your description for your symptoms, there could be one of two causes.
You may have unknowingly pulled a muscle in your groin.
Altrnatively, this could be an early indication of a hernia. Either inguinal or femoral hernias occur in this area. This is where a small amount of tissue pushes through the lower abdominal wall and causes intermittent pain. Other symptoms or signs which may or may not be present are swelling in this area that is more noticeable on standing and also the pain may be more troublesome when standing or moving.
This is not a serious complaint. I suggest you see your doctor who will need to examine you. The swelling associated with a hernia can be very minimal or indeed absent. A scan of the area can sometimes help with diagnosis.
If the symptoms are significant, surgery may be offered if it is a hernia.
I hope this is of help. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
