What Causes Sharp Pain In Shoulders And Heaviness In Chest?
Question: Hello,
I have been having a mix of symptoms, I'm not sure if all related but hopefully you can help. I've been getting sharp pains in my shoulders for no reason. I have a tightness or heaviness in my chest for the past week. And while sleeping sometimes I wake up with my heart racing and it takes a while to calm down and if its in the morning I've noticed my vision is blurry. Every once in a while I will get dizzy when standing. Any thoughts would be helpful.

I have gone through your query. ECG should be taken to rule out any possibility of cardiac problems to be on safe side. Other conditions which gives such problems in young females is hypothyroidism. So better to go for a thyroid profile test to rule out that also. If it is that then thyroxine supplementation will clear out all your problems.
Is your periods regular?
Do you have any heart burn (acid reflux) or gastritis?
Do you have anxiety or stress?

I'm currently using the depo shot for birth control so I haven't had a period in 4 year.
I've had acid reflux since I was 10, very minor I would suppose since doctors didn't give me anything for it. I do have a congestion/ phlem problem that was always contributed to moving between different climates. I moved to XXXXXXX from Florida and whenever I travel back to Florida it seems to get better.
My stress level varies since there are often high stress projects for work but otherwise I'm usually very calm and stress free.
May not be related but two other symptoms I'm having is quickly going from hot to cold and the sensation of being thirsty. I usually drink at least 12 cups a day and stay hydrated.
Any idea what those test's might cost?

In such case taking over the counter proton pump inhibitors like esomeprazole ( Nexium ) and taking breathing exercises for stress relaxation will be helpful. You can sit relaxed and take deep breaths. You repeat this thrice daily.
