What Causes Sharp Pain In The Lower Left Forearm And Jaw Tightness?

Question: Hello doctors,

Question: over the past two days, I've been having an odd sensation with my tongue (in which it feels odd to talk); not slurred or anything, just feels almost thicker than normal.

So later today, I also started noticing a sharp pain in my lower left forearm (see image for where); along with both that, a sudden jaw tightness came about only when running (as I'm trying to lose weight). The jaw pain did decrease quite a bit, if not completely, upon cooling down from the run. I'll say that I'm probably pushing pretty hard (15 mins of on/off running-walking). I've been to a cardiologist for chest pain (about two months ago) just to verify that the pain back then was gastric related, which he said it was, as the stress test and ekg showed so. He did note mild heart thickness but it could be remedied with exercise.

I'm just curious if these two pains are cardiac related or most likely something else (such as carpal tunnel, as I do play guitar)?
I don't have insurance currently so any help would be awesome.

Brief Answer:
Cardiac cause unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Based on your description, cardiac cause for these symptoms is unlikely as it doesn't involve the classic chest pain radiation to the arm with neck and jaw involvement. The pain / sensation is atypical.

The only concern is the possible LVH (Left ventricular Hypertrophy). Risk factors such as hypertension should be identified and addressed.

Carpal tunnel syndrome can be assessed clinically and by nerve conduction studies. Treatment can then be initiated. Though the site you pointed to doesn't correspond with CTS.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello again

Pinch upon deep inhalation, again is not a worrisome sign or any indication of a cardiac issue. It doesn't need any workup , intervention or treatment.

Thanks
