What Causes Sharp Pain In The Lower Pelvic Area During Urination?
Question: I am having sharp pain under my stomach in the pelvis area when I try to urinate it is painfull
Brief Answer:
UTI
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
The pain in the lower abdomen with painful urination and often increased frequency of urination indicates a possible urinary tract infection. You must get a urine routine microscopy and culture done and isolate the causative organism first, likely E.COLI, Then you may be placed on antibiotics for a week.
In the meantime increase your water intake to 5-6 litres of water to flush out the infection naturally and take 2 glasses of cranberry juice daily for next 5 days, it helps alkalinise the urine.
Regards
