default
Posted on Mon, 5 May 2014
Question: I've been experiencing a gradual sharp pain from the tip my chin that runs down towards the left side of my neck. This morning I woke up and it feels hard. Maybe a bump directly under my chin? Something feels swollen. Not sure if I should be worried about it.

Brief Answer: You might be having some decayed tooth there Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for writing in. As per your symptoms you might be having decayed tooth in that region which might have led to referred pain & swelling in associated area due to abscess formation.Swollen neck indicates enlarged lymph nodes due to some infection. You need to visit dentist & get proper diagnosis. Get it treated accordingly. Meanwhile you can start with a course of analgesic-antibiotic for 3 days. Hope I answered your query. Wishing you good health Regards Dr.Neha Sumra
