What Causes Sharp Pins And Needles Pain From Left Big Toe To Foot?
Question: I recently experienced sharp pin and needle pain in my left big toe extending to the upper left foot. That has subsided leaving some numbness in the toe area. I now have a burning sensation on my outer left thigh from the hip area to the knee.

You have recently been experiencing pain with tingling and numbness on the left leg from your hip to the great toe. This is most likely related to either the beginning or shingles or you have a trapped nerve in your back. If you develop a rash on your leg in the same distribution as your pain then you have shingles or herpes zoster. I would recommend you seek out medical care and they can start you on medication that will help ease the pain and reduce the rash
If there is no rash then you have a pinched nerve in your back. I would also recommend seeking medical attention to help find the cause and and treat the pain. You may need further imaging with MRI or CT scan to determine the extent of the pinched nerve
