Brief Answer:
It could be due to many reasons

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Thank you for posting your question on Health Care Magic.
Sharp shooting pain around the anus or proctalgia could be due to many reasons.
First and most common reason is stress ,due to which the pelvic muscles suddenly contract giving this pain.

Other reasons are haemorrhoids, anal fissure (tear in the anal opening),inflammatory bowel disease like ulcerative colitis or chron s disease, abscesses around the anus or in rectal area.

It would be better if you can describe more about your symptom like if you experience any bleeding or constipation.
Nevertheless using dietary fibre should help and pelvic retraining excercises will also prevent it.
Hope this helps
Best wishes
