Brief Answer:
Can be fasciitis or due to an injury.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The sharp pain in the foot on touching can be due to an injury in the area , inflammation of the plantar fascia or one of the ligaments. This depends on the exact site of the pain. In case there is any associated swelling or redness then an inflammation is more likely.
This usually responds to mild pain killers and a hot compress in the area. You need to consult a physician for a physical examination in case mild over the counter pain killers are not helpful.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
