Brief Answer:
Can be due to a cyst, injury or infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
A sharp pain in the vagina that you have ca be due to an injury, rough intercourse, an infection or a small cyst that may be infected. This all needs a direct examination by a gynecologist to detect the cause.
Bone and muscle related causes also need to be ruled out if no other cause is found. If there is no associated vaginal discharge then a vaginal infection is less likely. You can take a mild pain killer for temporary relief.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
