I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad, I have read your question, I understand your concern and will try to help you in the best possible way.
This seems to be nerve impingement or simple joint pain some pain in joint can arise due to any pressure or spasm it is expected to go away soon.
I hope she doesn't have personal or family history of gout and no history of recent trauma or excessive pressure on foot.
If there is no history like that then
You can follow below stated suggestions.
1) Take tablet Brufen 400mg daily twice daily.
2) Wrap crepe bandage not very tight but moderate around pain area.
3) Keep them warm.
4) Warm compresses or putting feet in warm water will help losen up the tissue .
5) Rub Voren gel on the paining inflamed area every 6 hours.
6) Take rest as much as possible.
If they have already been ruled out then you can wait and work on my suggestion on the points you haven't been following yet.
