Question: 3 months of shortness of breath with stomach spasms and occasional painless loud stomach gurgling.. Neg results of PFT, oxygen count, US abdomen, MRI. sched'd for thallium resting treadmill

Hello and thanks for your query.

Heart disease is certainly a consideration when you are having shortness of breath so I am glad that you are getting the stress test done on your heart. Some people, and especially women, do not have the typical symptoms of angina (pain from coronary artery blockages) ad so shortness of breath may be the only symptom. If your treadmill test is positive then the next test the cardiologist will do is a cardiac catheterization. It is good that your PFTs, Oxygen count, US and MRI were normal. The stomach spasms and gurgling may or may not be related, but you could try antacids and probiotics to try and ease that problem.
