What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Heart Palpitations At Night?
Get evaluated.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
Such pains in calf are known as Muscle Cramps. They would require evaluation for the cause.
Most common cause of such intermittent pains are:
1. Electrolyte Imbalances particularly Sodium disturbance.
2. Calcium and Vitamin D deficiency
3. Levocarnitine deficiency.
4. Intermittent Claudication - associated with early-stage peripheral artery disease
5. Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).
I would advise you to see your doctor, if he feels this is intermittent claudication on clinical background, he will get a Ultrasound Doppler done to rule out any atheromatous plaques and evidence of DVT. Also, he will get your serum electrolytes, Calcium and Vitamin D levels.
If your doppler comes out to be normal, he would start you on a supplement containing calcium, vitamin D and Levocarnitine.
Once started on this supplement you will start getting relief in 2-3 weeks.
Also get your blood sugars checked.
As far as the breathlessness and palpitations are concerned, if we have to relate them to leg cramps, then the only possibility is Pulmonary Embolism secondary to DVT.
Get an ECG and ECHO done, it will help to rule out all the possible issues.
Now this is my opinion based on your query.
However, if i check your history of the queries asked, you have asked the doctors about the pain in calf following a muscle injury causing a tear in calf muscles. In that case, it's just muscular and hot fomentation would help you the most.
This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any other query, you may please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
