What Causes Shortness Of Breath, Body Pain Followed By Wheezing And Weakness?

Question: after drinking heavily 2 saturdays ago. I had shortness of breathe, body aches, my whole left side of my body hurt. it subsided after a few days and after taking tums. now I hear wheezing when I breathe in. and my left arm feels different, it doesn't tingle. just feels weak. like I constantly need to move it to keep the blood flowing. I also still have shortness of breathe. I went to the er. and they claim it wasn't asthma. I even did a breathing treatment that didn't make all the symptoms dissappear. what doctor do i need to see or what do I need to do to see if I have a blockage of my airway? I went to a pcp and he said it's anxiety. but I dont think it is because I constantly feel this way, sometimes it gets worse when I excercise and I get really lightheaded. I am also on coumidan for a dvt
Brief Answer:
pulmonary embolism likely
Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am
I had gone through your question and i can understand your concern.
shortness of breath and wheezing in your case might be related to pulmonary embolism since you are already on coumidan for DVT.
A piece of thrombus can detach from the DVT and this may lodge in lungs blood vessels.
in my opinion you should visit a cardiologist for clinical examination and lab investigation like CBC, PT INR and an ECG.
meanwhile you avoid exertion and observe complete bed rest.
I hope you will find my response helpful and informative
please do not hesitate to ask for more clarification
I will gladly answer you
wishing you good health

I already got a CT and ultrasound. they said there's no clots anywhere and everything looked good. and the shortness of breathe is constant. doesn't a PE only last for a little while
Brief Answer:
consider these investigations
Detailed Answer:
Hello
thanks for your reply
Apart from thrombus other materials like air embolism, fat cells, foreign substance or an infective material may clog the pulmonary blood vessels transiently.
here I would advise you following investigation:
CT angiography
ventilation perfusion scan
D Dimer test
pulmonary function test
I hope after these test you will be able to rule out heart or lung problem. If everything comes normal then it could be related to anxiety or allergy.
I hope this adresses your query
