What Causes Shortness Of Breath When Heart Rate Is 89 Bpm?

Question: I experienced shortness of breath while working out with my trainer yesterday (which never happens) and had to terminate the workout early. I then walked to my car with difficulty becoming very tired and out of breath. When I got home, I checked my BP and it was 164/82 with a pulse rate of 84. I felt better today at work, but when walking back to my car, had the same symptoms. Had to rest several times and lean on the wall before getting to my car. BP tonight when I got home was 164/89 with an 89 pulse. Should I go to the ER?
Brief Answer:
Good idea to refer to ER
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
If it the first time it will be a better idea to refer to ER to perform an ECG and some analyses, to exclude acute cardiac condition. If ECG and lab tests are normal, then you can wait until cardiologist's appointment for full cardiovascular examination. There will be a need for echocardiography and stress test to exclude coronary heart disease.
You can ask in ER to prescribe some medication for high blood pressure, so you can use it until you see your cardiologist.
Hope I could help you
Wishing you good health
