It is clear that your husband has proteinuria. Normally only small amount of protein is present in urine. For a random urine sample, normal amount of protein is approximately 0 to 8 mg/dL. Your husband has excess about along with hematuria (blood in urine).
Now the cause can be related to any renal disorder arising form chronic hypertension, diabetes, glomerulonephritis, etc. Without thorough investigation it would not be appropriate to name the cause.
