What Causes Shoulder Muscle Pains?
Titres very low, give more details, do not worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I went through your history and would like to know more details about you as follows:
a. Did you have fever? If yes, since how many days?
b. What are your other symptoms?
c. What are the other tests apart from salmonella typhi h & o titres?
d. Is it Ceprolex or Cipralex?
Above details would help me to know your complaints better and therefore to make suggestions for you more specifically.
At present, I would suggest you as follows:
1. As per my knowledge, shoulder muscle pains have no relation with Salmonella typhi. It is done for investigating for enteric fever. So if you don't have fever, I would say the testing is not contributing to any diagnosis. In that case, I would suggest you to simply ignore the result and not to worry at all.
2. Salmonella typhi H & O titres - Widal test is useful only after 7 days of fever, in case of enteric fever. It is not useful before this period.
3. Overall, the titre H 1/80 & O 1/40 is very low and can be ignored, such result can also be seen in a normal person.
4. For sneezing, I would suggest you to take an antihistamine like cetirizine or levocetirizine for symptom relief.
Hope above information will be helpful to you.
Please provide more details regarding why the test was ordered, what were your other symptoms, what are the other investigations, etc. So that I can make suggestions for you more specifically.
At present, please do not worry.
Wish you the best of the health ahead.
Thank you & Regards,

Malaria can cause such results..
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your follow-up.
Your details made the things more clear.
A recent infection of malaria can cause such results in Widal test - low titers of H & O for salmonella typhi.
So If you no longer have fever now and only muscle pains, I would suggest you to not to think about the report. Muscle pains do not have relation to Salmonella typhi report. They can be due to post-infection or physical injury or strain or such things.
If they do not improve, I would suggest you to consult an Orthopedic doctor to identify the possible cause. He may suggest you some investigations like X-ray of shoulder, etc. Some exercise under guidance of physiotherapist would also help you to improve faster.
At present, I would suggest you to take simple analgesics (pain killers) for muscle pain.
Hope above suggestions will be helpful to you.
Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask on follow-up. It will be my humble pleasure to help you with my best of knowledge and experience.
Wish you a quick recovery and a very good health ahead.
Thank you & Regards,
Dr Parin N Parmar
