What Causes Shrinkage Of Gums After Teeth Removal?

Question: My gums are staring to collapse from the outside-in. I noticed the area just above one of my front teeth about two weeks ago and thought that because OI had had a tooth pulled there a while ago in preperation of a bridge that that could be the cause. Today I noticed that the area above the adjacent tooth has also colllapsed.(not the other fron tooth but the one next to the front tooth that had the gum above it collapse)
Since there has been no pain assovciated with it, I was unaware of the second gum collapsed area.
what could this be? I've had novocaoine injections in that spot a few times in the last year. Could that have an effect?

Once you remove teeth, the gum would shrink as healing progresses. if you had much bone loss, it may appear caved in. this may be ok for a bridge or bone grafting can be considered.
