What Causes Sleep Incontinence While On Flowmax?

Question: I have been taking Flowmax for approximately 2 weeks. My urine flow has improved during this period. I pass urine frequently during the day; approx. 150 cc every 15 - 30 minutes. However, I now have a serious problem with Incontinence during my sleep hours; I have to change my under garment 3 - 4 times per night plus the protective bed cover. I never experienced this problem before starting this medication although I would have to urinate 3 - 4 times during the night. My bladder retention was recently checked with a result of zero retention. Could this medication be causing the Incontinence?
Brief Answer:
Yes, it is known to cause incontinence.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
The cause of incontinence during the sleep hours is most probably caused by Flomax (Tamsulosin), by relaxing the prostate, urinary sphincter and urethra.
I would advise you to stop the medicine, see the effects and and consult your Doctor for further course of actions to be taken.
I hope this answers your query.
