What Causes Sleeplessness After Taking Zyprexa For Depression?
Zyprexa is not a sleep medication
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
Zyprexa is olanzapine and its is an effective treatment for manic depression. Making one sleepy is a side-effect of this drug and not its main effect. You should always give zyprexa in the evening and that will help in sleep as well.
More over the fact that taking zyprexa in the morning is not getting you sleep doesnt suggest that it is not acting on the illness of manic depression. You should still continue it.
The other good drugs for this illness is dvalproex sodium or quetiapine or carbamazapine etc.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
