What Causes Sleeplessness And Body Pain After Taking Wrong Dosage Of Flucloxacillin?
Question: Hi, I have tonsillitis and have been prescribed flucloxacillin. I accidentally have been taking 2 x 500mg flucloxacillin tablets rather than 1, 4 x per day. This has now been 16 capsules in approx 72 hours. I can't sleep, my body aches and my breathing is laboured. I put this down to the initial infection but have just reread the dosage instructions and discovered my error. What should I do?

Hi
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. I think I can help you.
The fact remains that ideally you need to visit a hospital .
So if there is a possibility of going to a hospital, do that.
Otherwise , just stop the next dose of the medicine.
Take plenty of fluids, and take regular dose from tomorrow.
Please be informed that the hospital treatment would vary and the other steps are limited by circumstances and availability.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal. I
